August 1st - Whole30 Challenge Day 12

I thought I’d start the new month off on the right blogging foot by posting a little update. Come to think of it, I don’t think that I even blogged about something pretty big.  I mentioned it on Facebook and I have a lot of drafts I haven’t posted yet…I digress.

*I updated the post by adding in a link to the website where I found this crazy awesome challenge. Also, I stumbled upon this girl's blog somehow, and she was starting the challenge, so something she wrote made me even more curious. I blame credit her.

I started the Whole30 Challenge!  Today is day 12 for me of no sugar, no grains, no dairy, no legumes, and no alcohol. I thought it would be hard but to be perfectly honest, it hasn’t been.  Sure it’s been a little tricky here and there making sure I’m prepped for lunch.  I’ve made quite a few trips to the grocery store for more produce and I’ve been spending a lot more time in the kitchen prepping, cooking, grilling, and washing dishes, but overall….eliminating the junk from my diet?  I have never felt so in control of my food and at peace with what I’m doing.  I have no doubt whatsoever about finishing this program and I’m getting excited for the end results and moving forward with my new eating habits.
I have more to share like some meals I’ve been eating, some recipes I’ve tried, but in the meantime, let me set up this picture below.  All was quiet in the house, and as I walked through the kitchen, I heard a noise, like a mouse or some sort of critter rustling around.  I stopped walking to investigate but I was pretty sure the critter heard me and was crouched in fear, I started to move again and there was the noise!!  Now I’m not extremely stupid, but I am pretty dumb at times.  I realized that the mouse sounds were matching my movements after a few passes through the kitchen.  I looked down to investigate, and the mouse actually turned out to be the tag in my shirt.  I’m such a terd.
